With an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEUs, the SPRC continues to advance in the implementation of the master development plan which, to date, accumulates investments in the order of 250 million dollars, executed through 2,500 contracts with the participation of 3,700 suppliers and Contractors.

In 2016 investments are made for an additional US $ 30 million to bring the depth of the maneuvering zone to 15.5 meters and to prepare docking docks for ships of more than 10,000 TEUs. It also contemplates the acquisition of gantry cranes to complete a total of 8, which will bring the terminal's operating capacity to 2 million TEUs per year.
